Amber Quartet Concert in Austria Highly Appraised by Austrian Media

On August 11, 2017, Amber Quartet of CCOM (violin 1: Ning Fangliang/violin 2: Ma Weijia[special invited]/viola: Qi Wang/cello: Yang Yichen) was invited to present a special concert at Old Linz City Hall in Austria. The repertoire of the concert includes Langsamer Satz (English: Slow Movement) by Anton Webern, String Quartet No.8 (Op. 59 No.2) of Beethoven, and Totem composed by contemporary Chinese composer Zhang Chao, etc..

The performance of Amber Quartet attracted the Austrian media. A number of musicians, musical scholars and renowned music critics (including well-renowned critics C.Crubauer) attended the concert. With high standard performance and brilliant music, the Amber Quartet conquered Austrian audiences and was highly appraised by music critics. The concert achieved a great success and the Amber Quartet had been invited to present special concerts in 2018 and 2019 in Austria.

In this important event, the Amber Quartet presented rigorous academic standard and high level performance of CCOM educators and advanced the international influence of CCOM chamber music disciple. It is worth to mention that the Amber Quartet concert is the first time which Chinese professional string quartet holds a special concert in Austria. It makes the event a milestone in the development of Chinese chamber music field.
