CCOM Student Yuan Ziyi Wins Second Place in the International Music Competition in South Korea

On June 12, 2016, Yuan Ziyi, CCOM student majoring in violin, won the Second Place of Violin Solo Session (in University Group) in the 17th Korean International Chamber Music Competition. Yuan Ziyi’s advisors are Professor Yu Bing and Professor Chai Liang.

The Korean International Chamber Music Competition attaches to KCO (Korean Chamber Orchesttra) and is sponsored by South Korean Government. The Competition has been held successfully for sixteen times and has become one of the top music competitions in the South Korea. The 17th Korean International Chamber Music Competition has grand scale and over 300 competitors  participated in it. Korean Chamber Ensemble, the host of the Competition, founded in 1965. It has become a leading chamber group all over the world. The Jury of the competition is led by Prof. Min Kim, who was the Former Dean of Music College affiliated to the Seoul National University, the former jury member of International Tchaikovsky Competition and International Mozart Competition, etc.
