CCOM Composition Student Li Bochan Wins Prizes at Home and Abroad

In September 2015, Trembling, composed by Li Bochan, the first year graduate student of CCOM in composition major, won the First Place in the 12th Serbian International Composition Competition (of symphony section). The Competition was sponsored by the International Music Association of Serbian W. I. Music. Professor Guo Wenjing is Li Bochan's advisor.

In December 2015, Li Bochan's Chinese ensemble composition for erhu, Eagle/Totem, won the Gold Prize in the Forth "Gold Erhu Award" New Composition Competition. The competition was sponsored by China Nationalities Orchestra Society. In the same competition, "Shengfeng" Chinese ensemble of CCOM Traditional Instruments Department won the Best Performance Award. The advisor of this ensemble is the Associate Professor Hu Yu. 

In November 2015, the erhu concerto Anthem of Chu, composed by Li Bochan, won the Third Prize in the First National Instrumental Works Collecting Awards (for erhu and orchestra). It was held by Chinese Musicians Association.

Li Bochan's MEDITATION III for cello and piano has been published by Italian music press Casa Editrice BERBEN in February 2016.
