CCOM Teachers and Students Win Prizes in the First "Sound of China" Composition Competition

On the evening of March 21st 2013, the awarding ceremony and prize-winning compositions concert of the First Sound of China Composition Competition was held at the Guo-Yin Concert Hall of China Conservatory of Music. The composition competition hosted by the China Conservatory of Music came to a successful conclusion.

The competition committee received total 205 compositions, including 78 compositions from the composer group and 127 compositions from the student group. After three days of hard work, the judges from nine music conservatories and other music colleges of universities reviewed 34 compositions as final works. On March 19th 2013, the final works concert was held at Guo-Yin Concert Hall of China Conservatory of Music.

The CCOM teacher and students won one First Prize, two Second Prizes, three Third Prizes, and four Merit Prizes in the First "Sound of China" Composition Competition. Orchid, composed by CCOM Student Rao Pengcheng, won the First Prize of piano solo composition section of the student group.
