Led by the President of Central Conservatory of Music Wang Cizhao and the artistic director of Zhi-Long Guitar Ensemble of CCOM Chen Zhi, Zhi-Long Guitar Ensemble participated in 2009 Guitar Foundation of America (GFA) International Convention & Competition on June 13th, 2009.

On June 19th, Women Guitar Quartet (Zhang Zhong, Fan Fei'er, Zhu Qianyi, Wang Yalun) of CCOM, being the representative of small groups in 2009 GFA Ensemble Showcase, was selected to present a recital at GFA Convention. They played "Overture" and "Waltz of the Flowers" from The Nutcraker Suit by Tchaikovsky, Hasta Alicia Baila by E.Martin, and La boda de Luis Alonso by G.Gimenez, etc. Their excellent performance was well received from all audiences. The President Brian Head and Executive Vice President Martha Masters of Guitar Foundation of America were attended the recital and congratulated to the four guitarists at the backstage afterwards.

On June 21st, Fan Yunxiang, a member of Zhi-Long Guitar Ensemble of CCOM, won the first place of GFA International Youth Competition. Professor Chen Zhi is the advisor of Fan Yunxiang and the Women Guitar Quartet.

This performance tour is the first visiting tour of Zhi-Long Guitar Ensemble of CCOM in the United States. The ensemble has satisfying achievements in 2009 GFA Convention and wins respectable honor for the Central Conservatory of music.
