Joined by well-renowned musicians and scholars, the symposium aims to break disciplinary barriers and limitations, encourage interdisciplinary research methods, and promote the musicians and scholars making study on music performances from varied perspectives.

The symposium consists of three major parts: lectures conducted by world renowned scholars, such as Professor John Rink, the renowned scholar of the University of Cambridge and a member of the Jury of the XVII International Chopin Competition, Professor Robert Winter from the Department of Music in UCLA; Keynote speeches by national renowned scholars who come from the music conservatories in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Mainland of China; and several concerts.

The topics of the symposium will include the establishment of music performance theory, the issues on the practices of music performance and teaching of music performing arts, paper writing on music performance, etc.

We believe that the symposium will improve the development of music performance theory in China and bring us new perspective and research method!
