In music history, the performance of chamber music was always a key for measuring a nation's development on music culture. The First International Chamber Music Festival was held with success at CCOM in Oct. 2008. During that festival, the active and warm responses from our teachers and students, and audiences from the society proved that the chamber music in China, although with a late start, will have a bright future. Sported by the leadership of CCOM, the Second International Chamber Music Festival has been prepared for the launching moment.
The festival's repertoire includes classical and modern pieces, especially collected some new pieces composed by Ye Xiaogang, Wang Feinan, Liu Li, and other students' compositions. Additionally, the organization committee of the festival invited first class Jazz ensemble to perform on the festival's stage. Some young talents of CCOM will also give joint performances with these music masters. We could say that the Chamber Music Festival is a valuable study opportunity for school's students.
Besides the concerts, there are several master classes delivered by renowned pianist, violinist, clarinetist, percussionist, double bass player from Hungary, USA, etc. The renowned conductor Lu Jia will also rehears the Youth Symphony Orchestra of CCOM.
