In the 7th International Cello Competition "Antonio Janigro" Junior (under 20) which was hold in Croatia from Oct. 24th to 29th, 2008, Xu Yiqun, the first year middle school student of CCOM's affiliated Music School, won the first prize in 12-14 years old group. Professor Zhu Yibing, Xu's advisor, was granted the Excellent Teacher Award by the Competition Committee. Shi Xin, the second year high school student of CCOM's affiliated Music School, won the second prize (the first prize was vacant) in 18-20 years old group (advisor: Ma Wen).

In just closed Erhu Finals which is part of 2008 Taibei National Instruments Competition, Zhao Yuanchun, the graduate student of Traditional Instruments Department of CCOM, won the first place (advisor: Yan Jiemin); Duan Chao, the senior student of CCOM, won the second place (advisor: Ma Xianghua); and Yan Guowei, the student of the Middle School affiliated to CCOM, won the third place (advisor: Yu Hongmei).
