Professor and doctoral supervisor of Central Conservatory of Music. He graduated from the composition department of Central Conservatory of Music as a graduate student under the direction of Prof. Zhang Hongdao because of work need in 1955. Assisting him for the preparation work to establish new department of musicology, Wang worked in school as the equirements of leadership in 1956 to the duties for the department party branch secretary and secretary, and began in 1957 as a teaching assistant to participate in the teaching. In 1961 he was promoted to lecturer, dedicated to the Teaching of Chinese Modern Music History and participation for the writing textbooks European Music History which is a key textbook in the School. In 1972 he transferred to the department of music at Central May 7th University for teaching. In 1975 he was sent by the requirements of leadership to the Institute of Literature and Art of Ministry of Culture as a deputy editor of the editorial department of People's Music. In 1978 he returned to the Musicology Department of Central Conservatory of Music, engaged in teaching as director of the teaching and research division of Chinese music history, appointed as an associate professor and deputy director of the department of musicology in 1980, and the director of Music Institute of Central Conservatory of Music in 1985. In 1987 he was formally approved to be the doctoral suppervisor. He has many professional and social concurrent posts.
