Ke Yang, vice president of the Central
Conservatory of Music, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of CCOM, Standing Member of
Party Committee of Central Conservatory of Music, Member of the Communist Party of
China.
Born in October 1978 in Guangzhou,He
graduated from the Music School Attached to Xinghai Conservatory of Music in
1997, and graduated from the School of Music of South China Normal University
in 2001 with a bachelor's degree. He received his Master's degree and Doctor's
degree in Music Aesthetics from the Central Conservatory of Music in 2004 and
2007, and then worked as a teacher in the Department of Musicology. In 2010, he
was sent to the Columbia University as a visiting scholar. Since 2012, he had served
as the deputy director and director of the Graduate Department, the director of
the Human Resources Department, and the minister of the Party Committee Teacher
Affairs Department. In 2020, he completed the Program of University Middle and
Young-aged Administrators in the National Academy of Education Administration.
He published a book Limited Relativism -- On the Value, Quality and Evaluation of Music,
translated the book Music and
Sociological Gaze. He has co-authored Western Modern Music Aesthetics (National
Planning Textbook in the 11th Five-Year Plan of General Higher Education) and
co-translated Musical Meaning and Expression. He has published more than 30
papers, translations and reviews in journals such as Music Research, People's
Music, Journal of the Central Conservatory
of Music, and Art of Music. His
doctoral thesis was nominated for National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation; He
had won the first prize in the competition of the Chinese Society Of Music
Criticism; He was selected into the "Program for New Century Excellent
Talents in University" of the Ministry of Education and completed the
research project "Contemporary British and American Musical Aesthetics in
an Interdisciplinary Perspective". He has been awarded the "Fok
Ying-tung Education Foundation for Young Teachers of Higher Education on Basic
Research Projects".
